Privacy Policy

Remosidian is a local-first remote access tool for your Obsidian vault. This policy covers the Remosidian mobile app, CLI host, private Obsidian plugin host, website, and related purchase or support flows.

Local vault and host access

Your Obsidian vault stays on the host machine you choose. The CLI host and the private Obsidian plugin host read from the vault path you start or open, so the phone can browse files, search notes, render Markdown, capture notes, edit supported content, and ask AI with vault context.

Remosidian does not upload a full copy of your vault to Remosidian servers. The mobile app stores pairing and connection information, not a full vault clone.

Private Obsidian plugin

Remosidian Host for Obsidian is a private desktop plugin distributed to licensed users. It is not listed in the Obsidian community plugin directory and is not distributed as an open-source community plugin.

The plugin runs inside Obsidian desktop and starts a local host process for the currently open vault. You can stop the host, disable the plugin, or remove the plugin files from your vault at any time.

Pairing and device access

Pairing uses a short-lived QR code or pairing code. After pairing, the host and phone store credentials that authorize the phone to connect to that host. You can revoke paired devices from the CLI or private Obsidian plugin settings.

Anyone who can scan or copy an active pairing code may be able to pair a device, so share pairing codes carefully.

Network and remote access

Remosidian can connect over LAN, a configured stable host such as Tailscale, a user-provided relay URL, or a managed Cloudflare Tunnel depending on your settings. Relay providers may process connection metadata according to their own privacy policies.

Your notes are still served by your own host process. Remosidian does not operate a hosted vault storage service for your private notes.

AI requests

When you ask AI about your vault, Remosidian sends your question and selected vault context to the configured local runtime or AI provider path, such as Claude or Codex on the host. Remosidian does not run a separate hosted AI proxy for your private vault by default.

Review the privacy practices of any AI provider or local agent account you configure.

Purchases and subscriptions

Remosidian mobile subscriptions may be processed by platform billing providers:

  • iOS purchases use Apple App Store billing through RevenueCat.
  • Android purchases may use RevenueCat web checkout.

RevenueCat helps us check subscription status, restore purchases, and unlock Pro access. We may receive subscription metadata such as product identifier, entitlement status, expiration date, anonymized app user ID, and purchase management URL. We do not receive your full payment card number.

Website analytics and support

The website may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate traffic and improve documentation.

If you contact support, we process the information you choose to send, such as your email address, support ID, device details, screenshots, logs, and issue description.
